Evening pottery course for beginners

Service Description

Hand Building only (beginners+) Four consecutive evenings 20th & 27th January, 3rd & 10th February (18:30 - 20:30) Two weeks off Fifth session Monday 24th February (18:30 - 21:00) This course will take you through a range of ceramic hand-building techniques and glazing. It is suitable for complete beginners and those potters that enjoy hand building and woulld like to refresh their knowledge. There will be no tuition on the potter’s wheel. All materials, equipment and firings are included in the price. The first four weeks will involve demonstrations from your instructor, Kelly which you will then be practising in the class, designing and producing pieces using the hand building techniques shown. Kelly will teach you how to glaze your pieces in the final session and they will be ready to collect from the studio within 6 weeks. Terms and Conditions By booking or attending a session, class, or workshop, and by using any of our services, you agree to the Terms and Conditions. If there aren't enough participants, the course will be cancelled, and all payments refunded. To book a spot, visit the workshops page on our website. No refunds will be given for cancellations unless your space can be filled. Health and safety guidelines will be provided on-site, but you are responsible for your own safety. We are not liable for any accidents. Courses are for ages 18 and over. To minimise environmental impact and due to limited shelf and kiln space, the number of pieces that can be fired is specified per course. Refer to the course description for details. Items with excessive or improperly applied glaze that might damage the kiln will not be fired. Follow the tutor’s guidance to avoid issues. Participants must clean their workspace and any studio areas used after each class to maintain good studio practice and reduce clay dust. Pieces are ready for collection up to weeks after the class, depending on the firing schedule and drying conditions. We will hold your pieces for 6 weeks after notifying you to collect them; after this time, they may be donated or disposed of.
